Patti Ashley, Ph.D., LPC Joined the AIM House Team as a New Lead Therapist at the
Men’s Program
AIM House is proud to announce that Patti Ashley, Ph.D., LPC joined the AIM House
team as a new lead therapist at the men’s program!
Patti received her Ph.D. in Psychology in 2002 from Union Institute and University.
Prior to AIM House, Patti held numerous roles: mental health consultant for Scottsdale
Healthcare, program director for Boulder Valley School District’s Community Access
Mentoring Program; owner and psychotherapist at Breakthrough Psychotherapy; special
education teacher for Boulder Valley School District, Adams County School District,
Deep Creek School District, Appomattox School District and SECEP; child and family
therapist for Family Services of Virginia Beach; child development specialist and
parent educator for Pediatric Specialists; and adjunct professor at Old Dominion
University and Naropa University.
Patti is completing her first book about the experiences of mothers today, entitled:
Mothering Beyond Image: Living in the Shadow of the Too-Good Mother. She
also has written numerous articles for various publications on the topic of parenting
and relationships.
At AIM House, Patti enjoys the atmosphere of group collaboration and exploration.
Patti stated, “I think there is much value in sharing ideas and involving the young
men in the decision making process. The founders and staff really want to make a
difference in the lives of the participants.”
Aside from Patti’s extensive history in the field, she has some great hobbies. She
enjoys hiking, dancing and listening to music, especially outdoors under the warm,
summer sky in Boulder. Patti is learning to paint and draw with pastels. She has
been drawing and working with Mandalas since 1995. Patti also enjoys working with
dreams and spirituality from a mindfulness perspective, which she likes to bring
into her work at AIM House.
Patti is also the mother of four children ages 30, 26, 25 and 23! Patti brings a
unique perspective to AIM House with her long history in the field, her experience
as a mother and her inherent talent as a therapist. We are very excited to have
her on the team!
