6/16/2008 - Elman New Men's Program Director at AIM House
It is with mixed emotions that we announce Tracy Markle's resignation from AIM House.
Tracy served as the Program Director for two years and will be missed by both staff
and participants. We wish Tracy well as she pursues new opportunities.
We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Sherri Elman to the position
of Program Director for AIM House's Young Men's Program. Sherri brings a wealth
of amazing experience and training to our program!
She was awarded a master's degree in social work from Colorado State University.
She holds a state license in Colorado as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Many of you already know Sherri and have worked directly with her as the Senior
Primary Mentor, a position she has held at AIM House for the last two years. Previous
to AIM House, Sherri enjoyed working in a number of therapy-related positions in
the Boulder area.
Sherri is thrilled with her position at AIM House not only for the creativity of
program delivery, but also the hands on experience with the young men teaching life
skills, educational skills, vocational skills and building relationships. "AIM
House views the movement towards wellness as a holistic experience. We provide the
foundation and support needed for young adults to build upon their unique assets
and skills to transition successfully back into their lives," says Elman. She
loves working directly with the participants and watching them develop new skills
to live life more effectively. Sherri is also a yoga instructor and loves to go
hiking with her pack of three dogs.
"People at school have even noticed the difference in my behavior."
