Alumni Lily Wilkinson & Charlotte Cox join AIM House Team

IMG_2797 AIM House is extremely excited to welcome Lily Wilkinson and Charlotte Cox to the outreach and development team. Both Lily and Charlotte are alumni of the AIM House program; Lily came as a participant in 2010 and Charlotte in 2007.  Both Lily and Charlotte have begun careers in the treatment industry, but this Spring they are especially excited to be coming “home” to AIM House.

While at AIM House, Lily fell in love with Boulder and the holistic approach to life and wellness she found there; it was the perfect place to support her recovery and growth as a young adult. She graduated from the University of Colorado in 2015 with a degree in Anthropology. In school, she took advantage of studying abroad in Tanzania, where she connected with the people and the culture so much that she has returned since to work with service IMG_2920projects aimed at women’s empowerment and mental health. Lily also became very involved in the creation and growth of the CU Collegiate Recovery Program (CUCRC). After graduation, she began working with students in recovery from addiction and other mental health challenges. She’s also a yoga and Pilates instructor and enjoyed teaching regular classes around Boulder.

After the births of her (numerous) nieces and nephews, Lily felt an urge to be back on the East Coast. She made the move to Maine in early 2017 and started working in young adult treatment, doing outreach at national conferences and visiting therapeutic programs and schools. She is passionate about helping young people and their families find the help and support they need. Lily is excited to come back to AIM House in her new position—and who better to represent AIM House than someone who’s been connected to the program for so long? Lily also enjoys spending time outdoors, practicing yoga, and discovering new books. cbbc0619

Charlotte began working in admissions at AIM House while she completed her BA at Naropa University, studying Psychology. Once she graduated, Charlotte became the Director of Admissions. After 5 years with the team at AIM House, Charlotte was pulled to Santa Barbara, CA by her husband and took on an admissions role for an interventionist and educational consultant based in Los Angeles. She then had 2 children and took some time to be a full-time mother.

Charlotte’s experiences as a participant and Director of Admissions give her a unique perspective of the program. Working with a consultant has given her a thorough understanding of the options for young adult treatment. With her background and education Charlotte can offer valuable insight to families and professionals working with AIM House.

Charlotte has received trainings in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and attends meditation and mindfulness workshops regularly at Pacifica Graduate Institute and other local organizations.  She enjoys sharing her personal journey in recovery from addiction and connecting with individuals and families needing support. In her free time, Charlotte loves to be active: trail running, practicing yoga and chasing after her two young children. IMG_6518

“Lil and Char” have been friends for years. They were roommates in Boulder, loyal yoga and hiking buddies, and Lily was even a bridesmaid in Charlotte’s wedding! Needless to say, they’re thrilled to add “colleagues” to their friendship resume.

Lily and Charlotte will both be doing outreach and creative development for AIM House. They look forward to sharing exciting updates and changes at AIM House with prospective families, professionals in the field, and other programs.
