Dear AIM House Community,

We are looking forward to connecting with as many of you who can participate in our Virtual Family Workshop this week. What an unprecedented time we are living in. I hope that you are finding time to practice exceptional self care during this challenging time. If you are on the fence about participating in the workshop, I wanted to give you a nudge. I believe it will be incredibly helpful and useful to all of you. Please join us!

I also wanted to send out an update so that you could remain informed about how Boulder and AIM House are responding to the COVID-19 situation.

Yesterday, Boulder City Council held a meeting to discuss emergency preparedness of our community for what lies ahead. To view this or get more information in Boulder’s plans check out https://bouldercolorado.gov/boulder8

Our hospital Boulder Community Health has an excellent website as well with helpful links for frequently asked questions. Their website is https://www.bch.org. They have the latest facts and figures for our state and county. We are very fortunate to live in a community that seems better prepared than most to meet the needs of services to treat and contain this pandemic.

We have taken every precaution we can and will continue being diligent about containing the spread of virus within our own community at AIM. The good news is the majority of young adults we work with are at a low risk of developing complications beyond flu like symptoms. In the event that participants in residence do develop symptoms and or confirmed positive diagnosis, we will implement quarantine procedures for that individual(s). Social distancing is important of course. Social isolation is a real risk for our clients and families during this time. We are ramping up all Telehealth and online services to help us all stay connected. Stay tuned for more on that in the coming days.

The AIM House and Boulder Integrated Health staff have made me beyond proud in all the ways that they are stepping up daily and are fully committed to the wellbeing of our clients and one another.

To help us through this time, we have hired Nadine Martin, NP to consult with us and see participants/staff as needed for best medical guidance and advice. We will not be going immediately to urgent care centers or hospitals unless individuals meet medical criteria to do so in emergent situations. Nadine will serve as our medical service provider during this time to help address concerns and treat individuals on a case by case basis. We of course will continue to follow the guidance of our local health department and medical professionals and adapt best practices as needed and advised.

Take good care of yourselves and one another. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, comments or concerns.

We will all get through this together.
Stay Strong and Well!
