Kathleen McCarthy - MA, LAC, LPC

Kathleen McCarthy brings years of eclectic professional practice to her role as therapist at Boulder Integrated Health. Kathleen has worked in variety of clinical settings, which include both mental health and substance use disorder treatment, and has worked in many different roles, including that of a mentor, a family counselor, a group facilitator, and a therapist.

Kathleen graduated with a BA in Sociology from Skidmore College in 2006 and earned an MA in Transpersonal Psychology Counseling from Naropa University in 2013. She believes in a holistic approach to working with recovering human beings. Drawing from many traditions, she blends mindfulness-based therapy, somatic work, CBT/DBT skill building, 12-step integration, and person-centered psychotherapy into her approach.

Kathleen previously worked at AIM House as a lead mentor for three years before taking a hiatus for a couple years to work in a substance disorder treatment program and is excited to be back and integrate all that she has learned into her role as a therapist. When Kathleen is not at work, you can find her practicing on her yoga mat, hiking/biking/camping in the mountains, experiencing live music through dance, and finding creative ways to engage with fun self-care.
