Ashley Shires

MFA, MA, LPCC

 

Ashley Shires takes a mindfulness-based approach to therapy; she specializes in research-based tools for emotional regulation. Ashley is a certified Brainspotting practitioner, a trauma-informed modality that evolved from EMDR. She is also an AcuDetox specialist and she is trained in DBT skills. Ashley completed her first yoga teacher training with Richard Freeman in 2002, and she incorporates breathing, centering and visualization practices into her therapeutic approach. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and she studied in the Transpersonal Counseling Program at Naropa University, graduating with her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University.
