Robin is the Clinical Team Lead at AIM House. She majored in psychology and English at the University of Buffalo, where she became very interested in literature and psychoanalysis. Her desire to work with others clinically was deepened by her inquiries there, and solidified after leaving school and trying her hand at other endeavors. Robin later moved to Boulder to attend Naropa University, where she graduated with a Master of Arts in Contemplative Psychotherapy.
Robin has spent many years working on community outreach initiatives through various organizations including the Citizens Environmental Coalition (NY), Food Not Bombs, Engineers for a Sustainable World, the Lifebeat Organization and in collaboration with the North Shore Hospital on Long Island, she coordinated and led many community events focused on HIV/AIDS prevention and education. She also spent a year in advertising in New York City, and worked for a bakery in Buffalo, NY.
During her time at the University at Buffalo, she worked as an educational interventionist for children identified as having behavioral and learning difficulties as well as depression and anxiety. She continued her work at Blue Sky Bridge Child and Family Advocacy Center in Boulder, CO, where she did crisis intervention, and worked as a school counselor in the Globeville district of Denver, CO during her internship with Maria Droste Services. She has spent the last year volunteering for the WINGS Foundation as a facilitator for groups in Boulder, Denver and Golden, CO.
Robin loves being a part of the AIM House team, collaborating with and learning from the rest of the staff. She enjoys getting to know participants, nudging them towards health, making them laugh with her wicked sense of humor and appreciating successes, the smaller as well larger ones. She brings her experience and training in contemplative psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, group therapy, mindfulness training and the Twelve-Step model of recovery to her work at AIM.
When not at work, Robin enjoys reading, writing, learning how to play Tom Waits songs on the harmonica and exploring the mountains around Boulder. In addition to AIM House, she works with adults, children and families through the Boulder Center for Play Therapy.
